Annemarie grew up on Long Island and attended SUNY College at Buffalo, majoring in Human Development/Family and Community Relations. She went on to St. Louis University for her MSW in 1978 and interned at a parish community center on the North End. Her background includes fifteen years of social work experience in the areas of mental health, developmental disabilities, and the needs of low-income families, as well as many years of active involvement at the parish and community level.

Desiring to deepen and more fully integrate her sense of service and spirituality, she attended the School of Spirituality at Mercy Center in Madison and later went on to complete her masters in Pastoral Ministry at Boston College, at the Institute for Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry. During her studies, she had the good fortune of interning at another vibrant community, St.Patrick-St.Anthony Church in Hartford, with primary involvement in the Servant Leadership School at the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry. During that time she collaborated with staff and developed two programs focusing on the Spirituality of Peace and Scripture & Servant Leadership. Locally, Annemarie has also been involved in organizing Community Conversations on Race groups and ongoing activities in Glastonbury.

Annemarie and her husband, Pete, have two children, ages 22 & 17, and maintain close ties to their extended family. She feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to join the community of St. Thomas and especially to minister to the needs of young adults, “those great- souled persons who are so desperately required by our times.”  She desires to grow with others here in building community, integrating a deep sense of spirituality and service in our world, and fostering learning from each other across the life span.
